Sneaky in Fjords

Post  Kostis_Larsson on Wed Jul 10, 2013 9:48 pm

I was in platoon with "Tyutyu" with tier 6 tanks in a tier 8 battle, battleground was Fjords from the east base.
I was wondering where to place the D.Max in order to use its gun depression being able to fire at target and safe at the same time.
And a crazy idea came to me... let's go to the lake and "hull down" all the time.
You can download the replay from here:
http://wotreplays.com/site/246626#fjords-tyutyu-type_58

And watch it from Tyutyu's view because i had to go AFK and missed the rest of the battle...

Thoughts about this position ?

Honestly, that is a very good spot to use hulldown. Ofc, if they had 2 or more mediums there it wouldn't have worked, but in that game it was fantastic. The only bad thing about D.Max going hull down is that if they hit you they'll damage you since it has no armor whatsoever.

You are absolutely correct Vampir.
My first thought was to go there spot and intimidate the snipers in that area, with a tank like Pershing or Indien you can be more effective in this area.
I 've also tried the lake from the other side, first i went to the "balcony" to spot and snipe and then i went down to the lake to hull down sniping to both sides, the tank that i used was the FV4202.
