No worries!

Post  SteelToedSneakers on Sun Apr 21, 2013 6:41 am

Some of you heard this, but I'm making a post about it so there will be no confusion.

Yesterday at work, I got chest pains, lost my focus, and my energy. Of course, I had a bit of a scare, and went to my GP. He ran some tests, and sent me to the hospital for even more tests. Long story short, after ten hours, x-ray, blood tests, and other stuff, it was clear that my heart and lungs are 100% well!

There might have been some muscular cramps, or something, but nothing dangerous.

Moral of the story, if you feel chest pains - go to the doctor!!

Didn't hear it. Ihope you're all right. Get well and take care.

By the way, strange coincidence: a classmate of mine also had pains in his chest last week. He told me that he will probably get angioplasty, though has to go to the doctor for a more compehensive surgery...

The world of holding it's breath!

But I fully agree, if you have chest pains, see the doctor, lest you reach the stage when you can't see the doctor lol.

I'm just curious. With those symptoms, which kind of issue would it normally be?

Chest pains, incombination with pains in your arms or legs can indicate the start of a cardic arrest (heart attack). The doctors will do an immediate heart scan. With the scan they will see if a heart failure ever occured. So STS did not have that (fortunately).

Other reasons are numerous, ranging from simple musscle aches, strains to even psychologic reasons, such as anxiety.

Me too September last year - thankfully all OK and eventually identified as a muscular-skeletal issue Smile

The children (10 & 11) had to call the ambulance and while the amulance was on it's way the wife called to say she was on the train from London on her way home. The children said to her don't be too long as dads having a heart attack! No panic there then !

As an aside, sadly I found one of the farm workers on the farm opposite us dead of a heart attack only a few weeks later. This followed finding the farm owner collapsed with a stroke (eventually fatal) a month before Crying or Very sad

Pleased everyone else has had negative findings - I blame the game myself for undue stress etc. Wink

Might as well get my chest pain scare in, basically the short version is I had a ride in an ambulance with a suspected heart attack last year until the docs realised that when you take strong antibiotics for ulcers it's a good idea to give the patient anti-spastic drugs to stop your digestive tract spasming.
Nice to get a clean bill of health after a night in hospital though!
